Philip Briggs first backpacked through Tanzania in 1986, and has since returned a dozen times in the course of researching various books and articles about the country. His definitive 650-page guidebook Tanzania: The Bradt Travel Guide, first published by Bradt in 1993, is now in its fifth edition. He is also the author of Northern Tanzania: The Bradt Safari Guide and the forthcoming Bradt guide to East African Wildlife (all available through www.bradtguides.com), and is a major contributor to the Insight Guide to Tanzania and Insight Guide to East African Wildlife.
Philip has been a full-time travel writer since his Guide to South Africa was published by Bradt in 1991. Tanzania aside, he is the author or co-author of Bradt Travel Guides to Uganda, Rwanda, Ghana, Ethiopia, Malawi and Mozambique, as well as the Visitor’s Guide to Kenya, and the coffee-table book Africa: Continent of Contrasts with photographers Ariadne Van Zandbergen & Martin Harvey (Struik/New Holland). He has contributed more than 100 features, including several about Tanzania, to periodicals such as Africa Geographic, Travel Africa, Africa Birds & Birding, Food & Travel, Wanderlust and BBC Wildlife.

The owners of this website are Marcin Depczynski and Aleksandra Pomper. We love to travel and meet new people. We were so amazed by the pure beauty of Tanzania – we decided we had to share this beautiful country with others, although deep inside there is a feeling that says we should keep it only to ourselves.
